Gigli.. lol [03 May 2004|05:47pm]

This movie was so horrible that it was craptastic!! It's so painful to even sit through half of this movie. Affleck's acting is at a superb low in this film, and JLo keeps the entire film together like glue even though it falls apart. I must say that my favorite part is Christopher Walkin's character when he talks about the pie on top of your head.. it's hilarious! I can't believe that one scene does not even follow the next.

although i think that this movie was really horrible, my FI and I are watching it b/c we love stupid cheesey movies, and this is up towards the top of the list!

[ mood | gigli-raped ]

I’m sorry to confess that I’m the other person who saw Gigli. And I admit it: I actually enjoyed all two hours of that masterpiece. I figured since I enjoyed Glitter my threshold of pain was unparalleled. But I was not prepared for the downward spiral my life would soon undergo. My wife left me. My children won’t speak to me. I lost my job. I lost my apartment and have since moved back in with my parents ( to their displeasure). I haven’t had a good night sleep in weeks. There’s blood in my urine. I went to see my physician and he couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Then I told him that I had seen Gigli to which he responded by kicking me out of his office. My therapist’s response was a bit subtler. He just told me to “get the hell out”. At night I have nightmares about Bennifer. Even when I masturbate, I constantly get urges to slash my wrists and watch Gigli. Does anyone else have this problem? Please help me.

Not only did I spend ten dollars to see Gigli during its brief run in theaters, but I also briefly owned not one but two copies of the movie on DVD. Amazingly, thus far I have managed to avoid being forcibly sterilized by the government.

WELL FOLKS! It's time for the Razzie's and who on earth would have believed it possible? That's right nobody outside we select few who have made ourselves sit down and watch the movie. But here is the big news.

GIGLI IS THE RUNAWAY WITH 9 NOMINATIONS! Who thought it possible? That such a little project that brought together powerhouses Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck would turn into something huge like a Razzie blockbuster? Not only are Ben and Jen getting a shot at them, but they have pointed out the terrible performances from actual GOOD actors, Al Pacino and Christopher Walken. And Lainie Kazan, who was good in...well Beaches. I wonder if something like this could drive Jen back into Ben's arms. We can only pray it does not.

THE RAZZIES!!Collapse )
It was close. But thank god Gigli pulled it off. Until next time folks. Keep posting!!

The Baywatch! The Baywatch! [19 Jan 2004|07:33pm]

[ mood | Salt in Old Wounds... ]

Hi everyone. I found this community serendipitously but I don't think it was an accident.

My friend Josh and I have been obsessed with Bennifer for some inexplicable reason, following the tabloids detailing the engagement and the subsequent meltdown slash postponement, which we feel was a result of Ben being confused by the rocks that Jen's got but that is a whole other story.

Anyway, we decided to rent this one night, as this was the apparently the Magnum Opus of Bennifer and we had some sort of responsibility to see it. Wow. That was the worst movie I have ever seen in my life...and I sat through Tron. But seriously, the horrible monologues and overdramatic acting and the nonsensical plot...eugh, I wanted to cry. We were asking ourselves how long this thing was only a half hour into it- how the heck did they stretch it out two hours?!?! I kind of want to rent it again, just to hear the commentary, to see if maybe, somehow, there was more to it.

I do find it funny though that immediately after it was released and doing outlandishly crappy everywhere it trod, Mr. Kevin Smith released a statement saying that this picture had absolutely nothing to do with Jersey Girl.

So that's my Gigli horror story...yup.

I've yet to see the movie, Gigli. Is it wrong that I'm in this community? I feel as though I'm here under false pretenses but I bet Ben would dig that. Heather forced me to join so it's not my fault. Nor is it my fault that I am feeling slightly superior that I have yet to be subjected to the god awful horror that is a Jennifer Lopez move. That will all be changing some time tonight though...and I'm so scared. :(

I'll do an Absolut inspired update after I've seen Gigli. I hope it will be completely bizarre and make no sense. <3

Hey, do you think if you could prove that movie ruined your life you could sue Ben & Jen for damages? Like mental duress or something. We should find out about that.

I watched Gigli with the insane owner of this community and it scarred us for life. At first I was all excited about it but no. It is really as bad as they say. I thought it'd ruined Ben for me forever but now I'm watching Chasing Amy, the good lesbian Ben flick, and I remember why he's so great. Not all hope is lost, kids. As much as I hate Gigli though I can't say I won't pick it up if I see it in a bargain bin for 50 cents sometime. You know you all would too. Now if LJ would just let me post this that would be something.

Well well welcome to GIGLI_COMM the community for those poor souls who have in some way been affected by Gigli. If you joined and you never saw it, good for you! You're probably just here for the traumatic stories people will tell. Too bad only two people have seen it and one of them is me. :'(
